Great Course for A1.3 Level Learners!
This course is fantastic for A1.3 level learners like me! It’s just the right level of challenge without feeling overwhelming. The lessons are clear and help reinforce what I’ve already learned. I appreciate the structured approach and how it builds on previous knowledge. Plus, the interactive exercises make practicing enjoyable. Definitely worth it for anyone at this level!
Christine Koskimaki Attalai –
I have been very happy with this course, and am pleased that we can continue on with our learning with the same teacher.
I have long wanted to learn how to read and speak Finnish, but never had the time to study it until I retired. Unfortunately, when I had a semester of continuing education Finnish under my belt, COVID hit, and courses were discontinued. I started all over again, through an online course at Finlandia University over a year ago, but sadly, the university closed due to lack of funding.
This time, I have hope that I will make more progress. Though I only have one person to speak Finnish with ( a Finnish American cousin) by phone for a few minutes every other week, I feel that thanks to this course, I am getting braver about speaking with my cousin and in our break out groups. When I take my morning walks or am on the bus or subway, I try to think about how to describe what I am seeing in Finnish. I find that it is getting easier to do that. I am thankful for this opportunity to learn Finnish.

The teacher uses the 1 hour time very effectively, makes lessons nicely interesting and easy to follow. Interacting/talking is quite well managed during the lessons. Homework is very well organized and it supports learning using different source material. I learned a lot in abt 2 months: reading material that I didn’t understood 2 months ago now the same became very familiar. I’m very satisfy and happy to start the second part of A1 with same teacher!

Good improvement
I have been trying on and off to learn Finnish. Many courses taken and this was one of the better ones.
The pre test was a great step as I did not try to start on too high a level.
The course and its homework was just enough to allow for at home learning.
During the 1 hour on line sessions the teacher makes very good use of break out rooms to practice with other students.
There is just the right amount of English to explain and Finnish to learn.
There is always good humor that makes learning fun and effective.
Looking forward to the next level with the same course and teacher!
Mari –
I recommend this course, good materials study and very nice teacher.

I have followed Finnish courses here and there some better than others. I registered to this one because it seemed a little different : one hour a week ten times + own work in between. I haven’t been deceived. The teacher keeps us alert and awake, combining exercises, theory and speaking. The text book is also nice. I highly recommend this course.
Karolina –
I highly recommend the course. The teacher is really great – the material is provided in funny and memorable way. There are many exercises to practice and speak with each other. The material was explained very well.

Kiitos for you review! The online-lessons are indeed only 60 minutes long.. or short. 😉
Lovely to learn that you could have studied online 30 minutes longer. I will ponder this!
Olivia –
I’d recommend this course if you have limited time available for studying Finnish. Very good text book (probably one of the best I have seen) and fun exercises. I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because I felt I could have benefited more if the classes were 30 minutes longer.
Fawad –
Really good course and I highly recommend it. The course is a nice combination of book reading and speaking with a bit more emphasis on speaking and interaction which makes it even better. The course is also very nicely structured and you can attend it completely virtually.

Good course, I recommend it!
