    Learning to master Finnish

Great course and teacher. The teaching approach, method and online Zoom session worked very well and allowed all to participates and progress. It is focused on practical Finnish language and grammar and best of all focus on speaking and understanding the language without making it too complex. Warmly can recommend this course.

    Excellent experience

Finnish is an impossible language, but Taru makes it seem almost possible. 🙂 She is a great teacher, although I feel a bit defeated by the challenge. I am quite elderly, so any language would push my limits.
If you want good teaching in a small group then Taru is a perfect choice.

    You will speak Finnish

I am happy that I reached Taru, I am a busy person, yet she motivates me in some how, even if I say something bad, I learned from my mistakes in small group.
The book is good for me, because I go on my own pace.
If you are planning to take the YKI test, maybe you need a more advance group, or complementary studies on your own.

    Great teacher

Finnish language is not the easiest one, but Taru’s methods are quite efficient. She can have us assimilate grammar, vocabulary with games, tutorials, which keep you motivated for the learning of Finnish language.

Finnish is not the easiest language to learn, but I am grateful to be learning it with a teacher who is a real pro. I appreciate the way she reinforces direct grammar instruction with video instruction, music, word games and opportunities to practice speaking in small group settings. I am looking forward to my next course with Taru very soon.

Excellent Course with an Exceptional Teacher!

I can’t say enough good things about this course, especially the teacher! She is absolutely fantastic. Her teaching style is clear, engaging, and incredibly effective. I’m at an A1.3 level, and I’ve found the lessons to be just right for my level of understanding. What sets this course apart is the teacher’s ability to explain complex concepts in a way that’s easy to grasp. I couldn’t ask for a better guide on my language learning journey. If you’re at a similar level and looking for a course with a great teacher, this is it! Highly recommended!

Taru is a great teacher who encourages you to use Finnish as a spoken and written language for everyday communication. The lessons are interesting, varied and well prepared. You learn a lot by different types of exercises as well as by traditional songs, popsongs or videos. In the breakout-rooms you can practise to discuss with other students in Finnish. The homework is always helpful for memorizing the content of the lessons and is carefully revised by the teacher. I highly recommend this course!

This class war really fun and I learnt a lot. Compared to my former classes, the students got a lot of opportunities to really talk and use Finnish, which made me more confident in using the language in every-day life. Not only could I progress my Finnish knowledge, but I also learnt a lot about Finnish culture, music, people and nature. It’s a very hands-on class, with the possibility to study in a quite flexible way: If there is a week with less time to invest, no problem at all. But of course, the more you invest, the more you learn, it’s up to you. The teacher Taru has a great sense of humour and never lets an question unanswered. Thank you very much Taru and see you in the next class!

Taru intersperses each class with a healthy amount of conversation + learning grammar/fundamentals, which has really helped me as I’m keen to just speak more Finnish.
If you’re ok to do some independent study each week (approx 30 – 60 mins) you can make a lot of progress studying with her! I especially appreciate her patience in answering our questions, and introducing us to relevant finnish pop culture through music and jokes. Thank you Taru!

Great teacher, very productive course, if you start following and doing whatever teacher asks you to do so, then your progress could be considerably different, tasks and teaching method was very nice to follow, I had taken some courses previously, but this course was most exciting and inspiring. Most importantly, you can also continue with your teacher for the following steps towards the required level you aim to reach.
