Moving on with Finnish A1.2
I have now taken three course with Opettaja Taru and just registered for a fourth. I appreciate the fact that the courses are interactive and engaging, with a lot of conversation with your fellow students. For me, hearing Finnish from different voices is one of the best ways to get accustomed to the language. And Taru is excellent, explaining how and why Finnish works, which is vitally important for such a grammar heavy language.
The emailed homework helps make sure you practice and is both good work and a little fun/silly. Taru is encouraging and pays attention to her individual students, so I can finally remember “lentokone.”

Moving on with Finnish Review
Teacher Taru explains everything very clear. She teaches useful and practical words. Her method of teaching is very encouraging as I notes down during the lesson and learn it, I also do the homework which are word games. She also explains more in the email about week’s lesson, so I can fix my note.
One thing I love the Moving on with Finnish course very much is I can practice with other students in Finnish with many topics. Such as time, family, jobs, objects, weather, clothings. By speaking out loud and communicate, I have exposed myself more to Finnish. Which is what I really need.

Taru explains things really clearly. She uses lots of different resources and has the students do lots of talking. The homework was well thought out, my one wish is that the homework is sent earlier.

Very good course/introduction to Finnish!
The classes are interactive and help you to start understanding the language (with practice, of course) 🙂
mikka –
I learned many things most especially verb conjugation. The teacher provided review materials through various apps which are engaging and fun. I appreciate that the teacher explains more whenever I have further questions I sent through her email and get ahead with the lesson. I also appreciate when the teacher allows us to recite so that we can practice speaking. I am looking forward that I could read textbooks written in Finnish so I decide to continue to the next level, Moving On 2.

Thank you for your feedback Mikka! The two courses, each 5 weeks, have been merged together. Now, there is only one course of 9 weeks.

It was a great introduction to the Finnish language and mild enough to made me eager to continue.
