For students who know the very basics of Finnish, and want to learn more!

This course is tailored for adults, who are interested in learning more Finnish and finding out facts about Finland. You will learn a great deal about Finnish habits and life in Finland as well as Finnish language. After each lesson you will get further explanations and motivating assignments in your email. This email is called “homework” – homework 10-15min / day
You will study 90 min online, and homework on your own about 1-2 hours / week. Homework is sent to your email after each lesson.
Brush up your beginner’s Finnish. 5 weeks, online course for you, who ALREADY can introduce yourself in Finnish, know the basics of Finnish pronunciation, puhun, puhut, puhuu, numbers, kippis and kiitos, colours and some other vocabulary – but you want to learn more!
On “Beginner Plus” you will:
- talk about the Weather in Finland (sää)
- learn many new verbs > and be more confident and fluent conjugating verbs, in present tense
- talk about clothes in Finnish (vaatteet)
- study useful adjectives (mukava, kamala, ihana..)
- practice speaking, writing and understanding Finnish
All this in only 5 weeks!
Teaching is in English, but you will speak a lot of Finnish.
After your payment has been processed, you will get instructions for the course as well as the link to join the lessons in Zoom.
This is a brush up-course on level A1.2. If you know very little Finnish, but are not an absolute beginner, join the 9 weeks long course called Moving on with Finnish . Completing successfully “Beginner Plus. Brush up Finnish on level A1.2” you will begin CEFR level A1.3. After “Brushing up”, you can continue on Finnish from A1.3, part 1.

I did all the Finnish courses offered by Taru until this one, which I just finished. I really liked the classes. This is my first time learning the language and I already know a lot of vocabulary and can recognize more words in conversations and texts than before. Classes are fun and we get to talk a lot, but still, it doesn’t feel too overwhelming. Taru is a really nice person and an encouraging teacher. I recommend these courses! 🙂
