    Finnish for Foreigners is tailored for adults, who are interested in learning Finnish and finding out more about Finland. You will learn a great deal about Finnish habits and life in Finland as well as Finnish language. 

    After each lesson you will get further explanations and motivating assignments in your email. This email is called “homework”.

    You will learn pronunciation, basic grammar and good-to-know vocabulary:  greetings, numbers, colors,  weekdays end much more.  After the course you can write an SMS to a friend or read the menu in Finnish. You will be able to make an order in a café.

  • Getting started. Very first steps to learn Finnish.

    For students who have none or very little knowledge of Finnish. You will learn the basics of Finnish language in an easygoing atmosphere. You will learn to introduce yourself, to make orders in cafés and much more. Words and sentences are practiced interactively. After this course you will be on CEFR level A 1.1. – A 1.2.

    For students who have some knowledge of Finnish. This course is a second part of series of two. Before you join this group, you need to know some Finnish, such as the days and months in Finnish, numbers, colours, to describe where you live and you must know how to conjugate verbs in present.

  • Finnish From A 1.3 to mastering Finnish, part 1. August-October.

    Previous studies in Finnish basics are required and you are expected to know English since it is the language used in teaching, alongside with Finnish. Starting from week 3 the language of instruction will be mostly Finnish.

    To participate you need a computer (or laptop) and a microphone and the textbook Oma Suomi 1.
